Au Pied de Cochon

(For the 24/24 service)

This brasserie is also a real institution!

Located in the heart of Les Halles, it was for years and since its creation in 1947 just after the war, both the canteen of farmers, butchers, delicatessens, merchant fishmongers and stallholders who came to set up or sell their goods at the Marché des Halles, the big wholesale market in the center of Paris and that Emile Zola called "the belly of Paris" but also of artists and in particular Edith Piaf!

Le Pied de Cochon has this particularity of being one of the very few Parisian restaurants to be open 24 hours a day !

Le Pied de Cochon has the particularity of being one of the very few Parisian restaurants to be open 24 hours a day.

This is why when the market was still open, before they moved to Rungis in 1974 today, the nightlife came here after the show, the concert or the cabarets. where they were sure to always find light, where to eat and especially where to drink!

The market of Les Halles lived at night since to be ready at 7:30 am, all the merchants of the markets of the capital and the surrounding towns came to do their market themselves, loaded their trucks and arrived at their stands at 5:00 am, in their respective markets, the time to prepare everything for the opening and the arrival of the first customers (restaurants sometimes too).
